Palomar’s own, Smith Mountain Boys have quite a growing group of fans!  Would YOU like to join in the fun?  There are three more dates in November to choose from.

A group of mountain locals are going out to Wynola next Friday night.  We’ll meet at 4:40 at the parking area above the Fire Department if you’d like to car pool, come on over. It is fun to get better acquainted with your mountain neighbors and Dutch and Bruce give such a great concert.    Keep reading for their music schedule:

Sitting at my desk, I saw a car pull up to our grandkid’s Woodpecker Firewood Stand.  They are also selling apples as a benefit for their Christmas Play.  This bubbly gal jumped out of a ‘Apple Red’ car, taking pictures of the stand and picking out a bag of apples.  So cute.  I just had to go out as say hello.

Irma was so excited to tell me that Manual had just proposed!  He asked her to marry him in our Palomar Mountain State Park.  She was so excited to show off her ring.  So, I offered to be their photographer on their very special day and have permission to share with you.

Palomar IS a very special place!  You just never know what is going to happen up here!

Have some very happy folks heading our way!  Just closed escrow on a home out on Birch Hill.  It was my 4th time to represent a buyer for that property and I remembered the webpage from several sales ago: Click to see Mountain Rose.  It has been vacant for a while and the new owners have wonderful plans to restore and make it a lovely ‘Rose’ once again. You’ll meet them real soon as they will also be joining a growing number of full-timers living on this beautiful mountain!

Couldn’t have closed this escrow without Adam Denton, their wonderful lender.  He has a creative loan product that made it possible to get this property closed.  The buyer qualified just fine but some of these properties over the years can also have issues to work-around.  Thanks Adam for waving your magic wand!  Need a lender?  Considering a re-fi?  Connect with Adam!

Marcia and Steve have a charming cabin, back in behind the Lodge.  I love the story of a bit of the history!  A former owner tells of how their son Joe, went off to college with grand ideas for his future.  With a twinkle in their eyes they told that after graduating, what did he do?  He opened up a corner grocery store.  He named it Trader Joes!

Well, I think we all love Trader Joes, cozy cabins and the State Park!

It was pretty fun to drive up to this cabin, greeted by deer!  The owners are putting some finishing touches on this charming cabin so it is ‘Coming Soon’!  Meanwhile, here is just a peek.

Mountain Music has been a much-loved weekend escape and vacation rental the past few years, with all 5 star reviews.  Built in 1997, it has an open living, dining and kitchen, two big bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, lots of storage and a wonderful deck.

I just happen to have the keys so am glad to take you in!

What are you going to do with your extra hour this morning?  I just finished filling more apple bags for the Kid’s Theatre Club fund raiser.  Fun to be out in our brisk morning air.

Only ‘treats’ for you at the Woodpecker Firewood Stand!

Those mountain kids are at it again!   18 locals are hard at work practicing for their Christmas Play that YOU are invited to!  Be sure to save Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.  They are fund-raising to cover production and costume costs.  So, they now have some fresh picked, organic, mountain apples bagged up and waiting for your pies, cobblers, applesauce and other goodies.

Simply stop by the stand on State Park Road and stock up!  If someone is around, we have free samples for you too!  Many thanks to a  couple neighbors who donated apples from their orchards.  There are several different delicious varieties.  You can choose your favorites or take home a bag ready to go. Suggested donation is $5.00 a bag and is on the honor system with a can at the stand which is open 24/7.

There are still some Beeswax/Pinecone Firestarters available too, plus firewood, always some great mountain cedar to warm up with this crisp fall weather!
