Extra Hour!

74614132_10218027000099908_3817059937012416512_n

What are you going to do with your extra hour this morning?  I just finished filling more apple bags for the Kid’s Theatre Club fund raiser.  Fun to be out in our brisk morning air.

This was yesterday’s sunrise sky… just had to share with you.   Palomar Mountain is a great place to be!  Enjoy your beautiful day! If that includes coming up to see property, I’m always glad to open the doors!

Apples For Sale

IMG_1206

Only ‘treats’ for you at the Woodpecker Firewood Stand!

Those mountain kids are at it again!   18 locals are hard at work practicing for their Christmas Play that YOU are invited to!  Be sure to save Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.  They are fund-raising to cover production and costume costs.  So, they now have some fresh picked, organic, mountain apples bagged up and waiting for your pies, cobblers, applesauce and other goodies.

Simply stop by the stand on State Park Road and stock up!  If someone is around, we have free samples for you too!  Many thanks to a  couple neighbors who donated apples from their orchards.  There are several different delicious varieties.  You can choose your favorites or take home a bag ready to go. Suggested donation is $5.00 a bag and is on the honor system with a can at the stand which is open 24/7.

There are still some Beeswax/Pinecone Firestarters available too, plus firewood, always some great mountain cedar to warm up with this crisp fall weather!

Thank you and everyone be extra safe tonight!

Boucher Lookout in the News

download

Have you been up to Boucher Fire Lookout in the State Park lately? Spectacular views and when it is staffed, you get to climb the stairs and meet a volunteer that is often the first one to call in a fire.

Ernie Cowan took this great photo and wrote a wonderful article.  Thanks Ernie and thanks to all staffing the lookouts!

Update after Power Outage

Fall for listings..

As most of you know, Palomar’s power was off a couple days.  We were all very thankful when it was restored yesterday morning.

It had been pretty quiet for real estate showings this week.  Thinking folks were keeping tabs on the weather with our strong winds predicted.

My first appointment yesterday was so fun to be back opening doors!  Such beautiful fall weather and a pleasure to share Palomar options with potential neighbors.  When you book an appointment with me we can see any and all listings offered on the beautiful mountain that we also call ‘home’.  Since I am ‘sold’ myself, you have lots of first hand info for weekending or joining us as full timers.

Two new listings have signs going up this week!  Glad to get YOUR questions answered and love to have you join us! Running out for another showing now, but first need to stoke the fire!  Hooray for wood stoves to take off the chill!

Happy Fall Y’all!

Fire Starters from Kids Theatre Club

IMG_9691

Very charming mountain kids have been rehearsing for the Best Christmas Pageant Ever! They are raising funds for the costs of the production.  That is where YOU come in!  Mountain-made pinecone and bees wax fire starters are bagged up and ready to make it real easy to start your fires this winter.  They would make great gifts, too, at just $3.00 suggested donation!

The President of Woodpecker Firewood has offered to let them display at his stand on State Park Road.  You can pop by to pick some up, simply reply to this email and I’ll reserve them for you since their supply is limited. Directions:  From Mother’s Kitchen and the Store, take the road to the left, which is State Park Road.  Just over a mile, you will see the Kids Firewood stand on your right.

Be sure to save the date for the play!  There is quite a cast from kids living all across the mountain.

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

Saturday night of Thanksgiving Weekend, November 30th

7 pm at the Christian Conference Center, Main Chapel

Ticket suggested donations are $5.00 per person or $20.00 per family

You can reserve your tickets through heidi@heidiphelps.com

Thank you everyone for your support, cheering these mountain kids on with their fun endeavors which is fun for all of us, too!

Need some property clean up?

IMG_8774   IMG_9587

Need some clean up around your property?  Rob Maggi and his crew did a great job on a couple acres with his masticator, chain saws and chipper.  Wish I had a better before pic.  The driveway had already been opened up a bit for a service truck to get there.  Now all the vintage apple trees and the land all around the structures is signed off by Cal Fire as ‘fire safe’ for the season.

Like to talk to Rob about what he could do at your property?
