Have some brush to chip? Thanks to our Fire Safe Council for securing another grant for free chipping! With all that rain and snow over Easter things really had a growth spurt! Let’s all work together to make our properties and this beautiful mountain more fire safe.
When you are trimming brush and trees for chipping, please be sure to have the cut ends facing a road where a big chipper and truck can easily access and turn around.

The single best way to protect your property/home is to clear all brush out to 100′ away from structures and along roads for 15′! The biggest problem with clearing your place is what to do with the brush. The Palomar Mountain Fire Safe Council has a grant for free chipping! Please call me for free chipping!
Is this the charming cabin-in-the-woods you’ve been waiting for?
Travel up the newly graded driveway to nearly a half acre of fun in the forest on Palomar!
Everything is ready for you to move in and enjoy your weekend getaway or come join us full time.
Our lifestyle is amazing on Palomar. For decades, Palomar was mostly occasional getaway cabins. Being an hour from the nearest market and the the craziness of the city, has a very strong appeal these days. More and more, new folks are able to work from home. This cabin is perfect. The internet is already set up for your office with several options to home-school the kids and a big fenced yard for the pup, your chickens, or both!
If you like your privacy, you’ve got it. If you’d like some old fashioned fun meeting neighbors enjoying all this mountain has to offer, we can make that happen, too.
Slip inside when the snow is falling and cozy up to this beautiful stone fireplace.
Built in 1958 and now with 1689 square feet. All square footage is on the Assessor’s records, so that works well if you need a lender. The cabin is NOT a fixer! It has been lovingly cared for and restored over the years so is in great condition.
Three bedrooms have closets. This walk-out basement has so many options.
Your favorite place to relax might be the sunny dining room looking out over your large fenced yard. Fall is in the air and soon you’d enjoy soup simmering on that wood burning stove.
Ohmygoodness! It is a very hot market in Real Estate!
We are all enjoying the cooler temps these days but, my real estate business is crazy HOT! The last cabin to close escrow on Palomar had three offers in that many days and closed in just one week. I need to catch up with the new owner to introduce you! He is such a nice guy and is a ‘Rabbit Whisperer’! True story! Stay tuned!
Today we opened escrow for Relax on the Rocks with several serious back-ups waiting in line. The buyer was up a few days ago, walked around, peeked in the windows and just had to have it! He is coming up this weekend but we’re already rolling with another quick escrow.
Five new cabins-in-the-works! Whew! Lots happening up here!
Three offers came in for that big, beautiful log home. The new owners were pretty happy when their escrow closed yesterday. A dream come true for their family. They are extra busy since it was a ‘move-up’ from a cabin they have owned for a dozen years. Their tenants just moved out so they have really been working to get that cabin in tip-top shape for ready for new owners.
We’ll have professional photos tomorrow, but how about a peak?
Knotty Pine Cabin is oh-so-very-charming, in excellent condition and has one of the most beautiful stone fireplaces on Palomar. Built in 1958 you’ll enjoy the original wood floors in the living room and den. 1686 sf with three bedrooms with big closets, plus two extra rooms. Lots of special touches:
One of four, very artistic, beautiful leaded glass windows! What is that internet router all about? So many folks who have called recently want to escape to the woods with your home office and home school the kids. Knotty Pine Cabin on nearly a half acre is set up and ready to go! 62 years ago folks were pretty content with a stone fireplace, and now even a wood burning stove in the sunny dining room. But some of us are getting pretty soft with these summer temps and really appreciate air conditioning! This efficient AC unit was recently installed between the living room and kitchen … ah, such bliss! So much old-fashioned charm with some new touches and updates. Don’t you just love this sliding barn door? Made by the owner, leading through the laundry room, down spiral stairs to a wonderful getaway with so many options. Yes, that first leaded glass window I showed you is in the bathroom!!! Soooo fun! Lots of ‘cool’ things to discover at this inviting, cozy cabin in the woods.
How about mid to late morning Saturday? (OH! That’s in just a few hours!!! I’d better click Publish pretty quick!)
Yesterday a couple stopped by the kid’s firewood stand for wood. A few minutes later they were back for a refund as there are no campfires because of the wind. We were of course glad to refund their cash. We have a note on the stand now letting folks know they aren’t going to be making s’mores outside during this time.
You might have seen the photo of rescued campers crammed in a helicopter in Northern Cal. The Forest Service is working to avoid more situations like this. The closure announcement includes Cleveland National Forest. I don’t know the status of the State Park, Fry Creek and Observatory Campgrounds.
