What is For Sale???

getcontent

So glad you asked!!!  We have two pieces of land for you to live your dream… the owners of the nine acres on Conifer had plans drawn for a wonderful cabin to take in the view.  Don’t you just love the barn doors on the front?  It would make it very easy to close up and come visit again for a delightful getaway.  I was out on the 24 acres in Pedley Valley for a couple hours today.  What a fun piece of property with a pond full to the top after all this rain!  Here are your options: http://www.palomarproperties.com/lotsandland

There are also two homes ready to move in and make your own!  Come check them out: http://www.palomarproperties.com/homes

Let’s take off on a tour!

No Ranches??? No Cabins???

5

Can it be true?  In my 16+ years as a Realtor we have ALWAYS had cute little cabins for sale on Palomar.  We have ALWAYS had at least one offering on the Ranches for Sale page!  Those pages are filled up now with SOLD and Pending signs!

We sure do have the buyers out!  Have you been thinking about letting go of your home, cabin, lot, land or ranch?  Let’s talk!  Love to help make some dreams come true for these spring buyers and assist in turning over your keys to someone who will treasure your treasure!

In the Cities, Above the Clouds, or In the Clouds,

Glad to be of service,

Here we go again!

img_5263  Two years in a row!!!

The past two years I’ve had to smile when calls came in from Phillip Molnar, Senior Business Reporter with the San Diego Union Tribune.  This year he started the call by saying,  “I think you know why I’m calling again…”  I did.  🙂

Every year Phillip does a story about the 10 highest price properties in San Diego County (I need to get back up there!!!), and the 10 lowest.  That low end is where Palomar has made the front page now two years in a row!  That sweet little Honeymoon Cabin with Bob’s Bunk out back and the irresistible outside shower was his lead story:

Purchased by a neighbor, that cabin-on-the-rocks is having new life breathed in to create a delightful vacation rental.  Thinking you’ll see it available real soon – Phillip is looking forward to coming up for a grand tour.

We have just a few options for sale for you to choose from on the Mountain these days.  Please visit http://www.palomarproperties.com

I’ll supply the umbrellas this weekend and let’s take off on fun a tour!

Watch for Rocks

rock-slide-web

During rain and snow especially, we always need to be extra careful traveling the grades because of potential rock and mud slides.  Stacy Eriksen just sent this pic going down the South Grade. That is the biggest boulder I’ve ever seen at the side of the road.  Glad no one was hurt.

Frank McCarthy was coming up today and saw some of these rocks coming down.  Apparently last storm brought some parts of the mountain 14 inches of rain.  We have already had a lot since yesterday.

Should be a beautiful Spring!  Meanwhile, be careful out there!

Welcome New Neighbor Mark

IMG_3708 web.jpg

When Mark Wisnosky came up to see cabins they were either too big or not quite private enough.  As we were pulling away from the last one for sale, I remembered I had one more key.  I explained that the owners were going to fix the siding and paint before making it active, but they had given me the key.  One look at the privacy and view and he had to go inside. Of course being the next owner of “Birdville” had quite an appeal, too.

Mark’s new cabin is one of the smallest on all of Palomar but “way bigger than his boat” where he stays when in San Diego.  Everything worked out perfectly as he was able to move in immediately and get settled to enjoy our Christmas snow.  His internet was set up for his ‘cabin office’ where he spends much of his time as a patent attorney.  Looking out to that view is pretty inspiring as Mark is also an artist and a musician so we are looking forward to more great things from Little O’Chalet.

Kids Club at Forest Service!

From: Stacy Eriksen

The Palomar Mountain Kids Club invites mountain kids to join us on a field trip to the Forest Service Fire Dept!  We are visiting on Monday, Feb. 20th (Presidents Day) at 9am. They are located on Canfield Rd, next to the observatory.

Learn how they prevent and fight forest fires, and all of the equipment and tools that goes along with that!

Please RSVP to PalomarMtnKids@gmail.com as they are asking for a head count to fit their presentation to the number of kids present.

Hope to see you there!

Elsie’s Mountain FREE today

elsies-mountain

Be sure to get BOTH Elsie books – links below.  The first one is a can’t put it down, delightful story of Elsie’s time as a school teacher and brings her to Palomar.  Must read that one first!  Both links are below:

FROM: Barbara Anne Waite

Today is my Grandmother Elsie’s 129th birthday. The second Elsie book, is free as an E-BOOK on Amazon (today only). The book, taken from my grandmother’s diary and letters, is a peek into life as it was 100 years ago. Here is an excerpt from Elsie’s Amazon page:
It was love at first sight when, as a young girl in 1904, Elsie first visited Palomar Mountain. Forever after she would refer to “my mountain” as some might speak of “my husband.”

Elsie and her husband Jack managed their own apple ranch and rustic mountain resort on Palomar during WWI and the years following. Rising 6,000 feet above San Diego and other coastal cities, Palomar provided a creative setting for a life that was anything but dull. Elsie recalls in delightful detail their “proper” British cook, the threat of dangerous forest fires, and the shock of finding out that they had hired an escaped ax murderer. When Elsie Hayes Roberts was ninety-seven, writer Larry Littlefield described her as “having a memory as sharp as an Ansel Adams photograph.”
