Great Eclipse and Palomar Telescope Events for All

Updated May 2024

It has been so exciting to learn even just a bit of the impact Caltech with their Palomar Mountain Observatory has had on astronomy around the world.  For 45 years our international treasure was the largest Eye to the Sky in the world.  At it’s peek, astronomers came from many countries and booked their night viewings two years in advance.  We are so thankful this is open to the public for tours.

The Escondido Times Advocate Fun announced the event for kids of all ages a few years ago.  It prompted the public to come the mountain maybe for their first time or come back again like so many people do.  Palomar is part of so many families traditions and the Observatory is high on the list.

Show-deo Saturday!

Like to see a great Show-deo?  Everyone is invited to the Palomar Christian Conference Center for this week’s Closing Ceremony!  It is amazing what those girls have learned to do in one week.  We go each year and it is so fun to watch!

Our oldest granddaughter happens to be there this week for Horse Camp.  Photos are posted each day:   https://www.facebook.com/PalomarCCC/    Wow!  What a great time these kids are having.

This week’s closing ceremony will begin at 10 am on Saturday, July 8th.  You’re asked to arrive 15 minutes early.    (This is Week 3 of 8 so there will be other Shoe-deos through mid August).

Directions:  Go through the State Park and follow directions to the Christian Conference Center.  When you see the camp buildings, turn into the first parking lot and you will see the horse barn, arena and bleachers off to the left.

It is not too late to send your kids to camp this summer!   There are a few spots left for Horse Camp and the very fun Adventure and Base Camps:   http://www.pccc.org

All Dressed Up! Cabin For Sale

5 IMG_6294

It has been so much fun to watch the transformation of this charming cabin.  The owner/contractor figures there is not much left untouched from the humble beginnings in 1936.  This cabin just very well could be the very best buy in the entire county.  One thing for sure, it is in the very best zip code!!!

Ready to move right in so come take a peek and let’s see if this is the one!
