April Snow?

april snow 2011

Yes!  A foot of snow surprised us in 2010. This year we have sunshine and blue sky. It is still chilly out so I did have a jacket on for a couple septic inspections.  (Not that bright pink one – it is long-gone, I promise!)

We just got back from a few days away.  It was so beautiful to turn on to East Grade, coming up from Lake Henshaw.  The oaks at the lower elevations are already leafed out.  Several listings are waiting in the wings for spring photos and those will happen in the next couple weeks or so.

Meanwhile, the two, three story homes on my website, each had two offers.  Looks like we have fulltime families with 4 more kids joining us!

Escrow (finally!!!) closed on the 4 view acres.  It will be fun to watch the progress on that property.  Thanks to a neighbor for signing off on the easement, and survey help from the buyer, that land now has a deeded easement to the public road.  The county requires proper access to pull building permits so that was a very important addition to that title report.

Another escrow is very close.  A new roof (the third new roof recently!) went on and a leach field was needed.  Almost ready to sign off on contingencies and turn over to the new owner.  Some of these escrows recently have been pretty complicated!

Thinking of selling?  What ever situation you have with your ranch, home, cabin, lots or land, we can work together to check off the boxes and find the perfect buyer.  After all the rain in the cities and above the clouds, many buyers are so anxious to have a place of their own up here. Let’s connect!

My little mountain-made website for Palomar Properties needs updating but that will be another time.  Meanwhile, there are just a couple options left for you to explore.

Snow boots not needed.  Come on up!

Rosie’s on HGTV tonight!

Like to see the before and after transformation of a long-time favorite restaurant?

Formerly Champion’s, and prior to that the Chat and Chew.  This fun restaurant has been a favorite of locals and Palomar folks for decades.  I don’t think we have ever been in that we didn’t see someone we know!

Kaitlyn Rose, has a great story about how she came to be the new owner of what four generations of our family has loved for years. Now “Rosie’s” on Grand, she is from ‘Jersey but we won’t hold that against her.

When I did the search this morning on my Facebook for this photo, the following conversation popped up with our now 11 year old grandson:

May 31, 2017 – Judah at Rosie’s Café: I’ll have the Grand Slam please.
Grandaddy: That’s a lot of food – 2 big pancakes, scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, can you eat all that?
Judah: Sure, and if anyone here wants to see my magic trick, I brought my deck of cards.
Yep, he ate the whole thing and folks loved his card trick.

You never know who you’ll run into at Rosie’s, but for sure you’ll have great food in a very fun, newly decorated café!

Notre Dame memorial Organ Concert

brett

Neighbor, Brett Michael Howser called with the devastating news of the Notre Dame Cathedral.  He is inviting everyone to a free organ concert to honor the historical building that suffered so much damage in  the tragic fire.

Brett has hosted concerts in the past and will play some wonderful selections that have been heard in Notre Dame.  You are invited to bring a jacket, sit out in front of his home and soak in some magnificent music.  He will be playing music that captures the spirit of the moment.

Wednesday, April 17, 2019, 11 am

21672 Crestline Road

Directions: Go to the end of Crestline, park at the Lodge and walk left on Birch Hill.  Turn right at first right.  Brett’s home is about the 6th on the left.  You might appreciate a chair but can also sit on his retaining wall.

Fun Show – Save the Date

heidi.jpg

Not to brag or anything, but when it comes to tap, this neighbor of ours still has it!

Pull backs? Double pull-backs? Wings? One-footed wings? Time steps? Double speed? She can do them all over 20 years later!

I met this gal when she was a toddler.  Our families went to the same church when our kids were growing up.  During high school, Heidi’s mom brought her over for me to do her makeup for a special tap dance recital.  A couple years later, she was dating our son.  Now Brandon and Heidi just celebrated their 19th Anniversary and are parents of our four ‘Treasures’.

Heidi and her daughters are having so much fun rehearsing for Thoroughly Modern Millie.  Another very talented mountain Mom, Jodi Villarreal, and daughters are in the show too.  Heidi and Jodi have discount tickets and here is all the info.  You can also get them at the door:
