9 Acres on Upper Meadow Road For Sale

It was lightly snowing a couple nights ago when I drove by Upper Meadow Road and just had to take this photo.  The gated road leads you to an absolutely beautiful property with views across the county to Mexico and the Islands in the Pacific.  A few years ago I represented the properties on both sides of this nine acres.  So, I just happened to have some Fall and Winter photos for you from two of our beautiful seasons on the Mountain top.  Like what you see?  It can be yours!  Put your hiking boots on and let’s go!

Jazz Concert at the Maxine this Thursday

Most Palomar students have attended Valley Center for High School. Here is an opportunity to support the music program and catch some great music at a good price!  Bonnie Phelps

Subject: Jazz Concert to Benefit Valley Center Music

This Thursday, the Maxine Theater at the Valley Center High School will be the site of the 13th Annual Jazz Benefit Concert beginning at 6 PM. This is truly a magnificent evening and all the proceeds go directly to the music programs in Valley Center.

Doors open at 5 PM with Len Beck, an award winning pianist, will be playing in the lobby between 5 and 6.  The concert begins at 6 PM. A combo plate of a tri tip slider, caesar salad and a drink will be offered for just $5. Gourmet desserts from Valley View Bakery will also be for sale at a modest cost.

Opening acts will be the award winning Valley Center Middle School and High School Jazz Bands. They will perform between 6 and 7. The San Diego Jazz Orchestra will take the main stage for their impromptu jam session from 7:15 until about 9 PM. Audience members always rave about this rare opportunity to hear some of the country’s best performers come together in a benefit for our music programs. All of the musicians donate their time and talent for our kids! Tickets will be available for sale at the door on a first come, first served basis, or from me if you let me know in advance. Cash or checks to Valley Center/Pauma Music Boosters (VCPMB), a 501c3 charitable organization, are accepted. Tickets are just $10.

Please forward to others who enjoy great music!

Do you have Auction Items to Donate?

We’re having an Auction along with the St. Paddy’s Day Dinner Fund raiser for the Community Center.  Our first goal is to pay for the beautiful new furniture that we will all enjoy at the Center for many years to come.    What Auction items do you have that you could donate?  Gift Certificates, unique items of interest – use your imagination and creativity and we know you’ll come up with some great ideas – the people of Palomar always do.   🙂

Tracey Chesney (Thanks Trace!) is in charge of the auction so please email her at traceychesney@yahoo.com or call 949.291.7980

(The photo?  Oh, I was looking for a pic from an auction in the past but alas, folks weren’t wearing green . . . then remembered those fun St. Patrick’s Day Dinners put on by the school…  The kids are all sure grown up now!  🙂   Bonnie Phelps)

New Weather Station

From: Robert Gonsett      A new automated weather station has been installed on Mt. Wilson.  Since Wilson is comparable in elevation to Palomar, this station may be of more than routine interest to Palomar residents and guests. Wilson is about 8 miles NE of Pasadena and 93 miles NW of Palomar. The weather station itself — a “Davis Vantage Vue” — is privately owned by one of the broadcast engineers on Wilson. The system went on-line Saturday, February 20, 2010. Everything is working except the video camera and that should be added in a couple of weeks. Other upgrades are expected shortly.
