We’re sure pleased to have a wonderful composer attribute the beauty of Palomar to some of his inspiration for his compositions. Click to read about one of the top three faces to watch in 2014!

The crew can use it. We’ll take it. Also, it can be written off as a tax deduction.

Who wants to start the year out with a just-like-new sofa? Ikea sleeper. Very heavy. Clean, no spots. Need two strong guys to move. It’s on the Mountain.
Just let me know!

Everyone is invited to Christmas Eve with Lessons and Carols on the Mountain at the Community Center by the Fire Station. Different neighbors will be doing the readings and the caroling will be to guitar music. A lovely evening is planned 7 pm. If you have appetizers or dessert to share, bring it along. Or just come! Beverage provided.
This delightful video just came my way. Gotta love those sheep!

A big package arrived yesterday filled with Ice Scrapers for Palomar folks! Gene Powers owned the A-Frame just east of the Lodge for 32 years. He moved to Iowa in 2009 but when he walks in most every store in his home town, he sees Ice Scrapers that make him think of Palomar. Since ice scrapers aren’t readily available in So Cal, he decided to buy them out, and send them our way. This is the second time we’ve had a delivery of Ice Scrapers from Gene and I think it is quite fun. These are extra special since they have ice chippers on the sides.
(Yes, Jim and Teresa McCarthy, new owner’s of Gene’s cabin, I’ll leave yours on the porch!)
So, who else would like an ice scraper all the way from Iowa? Just let me know, and while the supply lasts, I’m glad to be the Christmas delivery elf.
Merry Christmas, one and all!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Just a little snow made it extra special up here today! There is no business like snow business!
People often ask how the Real Estate Market is doing these days. Tomorrow a quick escrow is closing for “Honey, Stop the Car”, just in time to move in for Christmas. We opened a 21 day escrow yesterday on “The Palomar Loft” with a couple with ties that go back many decades to Palomar. Ah, to own a piece of the Mountain! We’ve had quite a few showings lately but the lowest inventory in the 14 years that I have been a Realtor.
I remember the days of 18 to 22 active listings on Palomar. We have less than half of that. Click to see all cabins, homes, and ranches on the MLS. There are only nine to choose from. Just one piece of land that I think will go soon now, paired with the cabin next door.
The Vacation Rental Market is really picking up. We often have only a few hours on turn-arounds. And, we already had one guest buy a cabin! Sure has been fun to meet some of the folks that enjoy Palomar so much even for just a few days. I think it has been good for the mountain too, as they love to visit the Observatory, have a yummy meal at Mother’s Kitchen, pick up supplies at the General Store. They hike in the State Park, contribute to save our State Park, go home with some mountain eggs, or ground coffee. Great bargains have been found at the Bailey Barn Sales. The Zip Line at the Conference Center is a huge hit. Guests coming next week plan to be at the Community Center for Christmas Eve.
So, I always welcome folks for their “tour of the Mountain” hoping that they will join us up here.
Thinking of selling your cabin, home, ranch or land? One way I look listings is kind of like the success of Food Court in a Mall. The more you have to choose from, the more people come, and the more the register rings. Love to talk to you about the possibilities.
And, would you consider renting your cabin? I’m glad to get your questions answered about spreading the joy of time on the mountain, too!
Merry, Merry Christmas to all!
