Going down the East Grade, we stopped for a few minutes while a huge crane was getting in place to set some new poles.  We were told that SDG&E is replacing wooden poles with steel poles, across the mountain.  The plan is to have a safer situation during fires, storms and high winds. Read More…

When you’d like a bagpiper for a special event, we have a new addition to our ‘Mountain Musicians’ on MyPalomarMountain.com.  Benjamin Scott Johnston is a professional bagpiper out of San Diego.  Walt and Rosemary Johnston’s son, Ben has grown up with many fond memories of coming to their family cabin on Palomar.  His contact info and more is found on our Musicians page.

Big storm heading our way – it will be fun to see how much snow we really get!

The mountain is painted with so many early daffodils. Picked a couple bouquets today with this promised rain and maybe a bit of snow.

The wildlife sure seem excited about the change in the weather!   Here are just a few of the flock of about 40 turkeys down in our orchard today.  Later about 200 pigeons flew in and out too fast for my camera.

  Robert and Anita were on their way to his mother’s 100th Birthday party today.  Mom is German but the party is Scott, complete with bagpipes.  Not too often do we see this kind of fun eye-candy in front of the post office.  Just had to share with you!
