Driving down the East Grade of Palomar, you’ll often see cattle dotting the Warner’s Ranch ’round Lake Henshaw.  Those would be Art Fann’s.  One of the nicest guys you’d ever meet. Art is doing what he loves, out there on the back of a horse.  His lovely wife Star,  keeps the home fires burnin’ and also took this pic of her ol’cowboy.

J. Harry Jones with the Union Tribune has another great article for us about Art Fann’s life on the range.

That cowboy I live with sure enjoys every minute in the saddle and appreciates all he has learned from Art.

You had to be up early to catch the snow-flocked trees. Thanks to Barbara Waite who shared her photo, taken about an hour ago.  Might have a little more snow over the next couple days.  Enjoy and stay warm, out and about on our beautiful mountain!

Glad I knew about the burning out beyond the Observatory when I saw all the smoke.  They are doing a great job to make the mountain more fire safe.

Please be advised that CNF will be performing a 40 acre burn tomorrow 3/21/2016 on the Palomar Divide with an ignition time of 0900.  If you receive any calls inquiring about the Burn please direct them to the CNF P.A.O. (Public Affairs Officer) Olivia Walker 858-674-2984.

Growing up in Julian, and now living in the city of San Diego, Mike and Nicole have felt the need for some place to get away from the busyness of the city.  They want their kids to have a connection to land like they did, with time to play in the dirt and climb trees. Their kids are 4- and 2-years old plus another on the way!
