Palomar Mountain at one point boasted a very successful apple industry.

10:30 AM – Hike: Silvercrest and Scott’s Cabin 1.5 hrs
Scott’s Cabin Trail offers a wooded walk on the broad peak of Palomar Mountain, while Silvercrest Trail sets you on a trail looking down the slopes of the mountain.
Difficulty / Distance: Moderate difficulty, 3 miles.
