The ADU event last week, sponsored by the Board of Realtors was very informative. I came home with great sources for info to share. The county office for ADU’s was there with pre-approved plans that are available at no charge, and more to come.
I arrived early so was able to get some questions answered. Even though their literature states that each unit needs to have their own septic system, they have made exceptions and have permitted tie-ins to existing systems. They also believe there will be exceptions for solar requirements where neighboring trees would limit the effectiveness of solar.
As mentioned in the last post, the Palomar Mutual Water Co isn’t set up for additional dwellings to be added to properties with a water share. However, many of you have your own well or live in the cities where most cities are encouraging more housing. I believe adding even a small ‘tiny house’ or up to 1200 square feet guest house/granny flat, is the single most important thing you could do to add value to your land.

Of course, I’m glad to get your questions answered any time.
