SDG&E has some scheduled power maintenance up here apparently. Tomorrow, Thursday, from 8 to 4 our power is to be off.
We’ll have our generator humming and are a free hotspot if anyone needs to re-charge, use our internet, or just pop by and say ‘Hi”.
Bonnie
Good Evening Palomar Mountain,
My Name is Martin Sommers,
I’m one of your three Firefighter Paramedics that serve on Palomar and have been stationed here for about 2 and a half years. I Spoke to Bonnie this morning about ISO ratings. ISO stands for (Insurance Service Office) These Ratings range from 1-10 as 1 being the best and 10 being the worst. For the longest time Palomar mountain has held an ISO rating of 9 but with the implementation Cal Fire/ San Diego County Fire, Palomar Mtn new ISO rating is at a 3. For most fire insurance agency’s this is a big deal and could possibly save u money on your insurance. However please understand that every property is different depending on the location of your home and that not all insurance companies will change their rates.
Your insurance agency will more than likely contact us here at station 79 or send you a paper to fill out with a bunch of questions that you may not fully understand ….That’s ok just bring them by the station and we will help you with them. I work Tuesday – Thursday and would love to help you out with them.
Your Friendly Neighborhood Fireman
