Subject: Birch Hill Fuels Work

We have started work on the Birch Hills Community Defense project.

The crew started working last week and you can usually hear their chain saws from 0700-1400 daily except Sunday, weather permitting. The plan is to have them cut brush and pile it.  Our plan is to then burn piles and then follow up with future broadcast burns to create a more defensible space for the residences of Birch Hill.

The Palomar Fire Safe Council and the U.S. Forest Service is doing what we can to help improve the defensible space in the Wildland Urban Interface and help keep wildfires from raging out of control and help fire fighters have a place where they may make a stand.

If you have any questions or issues please feel free to call me directly at 619-209-1414 Tim Gray or my Fuels Specialist Dana Barre at 619-884-7491.
