Hoping you have all had a wonderful weekend.
Since I have the pen here with Palomar Mountain News, I decided to take the liberty to update you a bit about our family ties on Palomar. We are enjoying some wonderful changes to our lives that has this mom and grandma extra happy these days.
Thinking back on how we came to Palomar takes me to my folks. Many of you met my mother Charlotte who was such a loving, positive influence in my life. In 1959, she and my dad bundled us up for our first visit to the snow. I could take you to the exact spot on the side of the road, just before you get to the Fire Department, where we built that snowman. Such a fun memory. This photo is my brother Tom, mother and me on that first trip.
Don and I bought our ‘Square House’ in 1975. We sold it a few years later, then bought it back in ’98. When the fixer ‘Round House’ came available next door in 2006, we just had to have it.
A dream I never even dared to dream, came true! Brandon, his wife Heidi and their four children, our “Treasures”, are the newest owners of Round House Ranch next door. Nathan owns a vacation rental up here and plans to rehab another. When he sold his place in San Diego he moved to our guest apartment. I couldn’t be happier with our whole family living here and enjoying the amazing lifestyle on this beautiful mountain.
Thank you for your friendship, friendly smiles and all so many people do to make Palomar so special.
