Snow on the way? Snow Tips and Pix

Thanksgiving Weekend, 2009

Last Saturday’s beautiful Thanksgiving snow was a surprise for many of us.  Often there is a lot more of that white stuff and even though it can be very fun, when cars are parked way off the main road and you wake up to a surprise Snowed Inn 🙂 it can turn into a lot of drama…  So, see the link on the right with some tips for the next time it snows.

You’ll find a very relaible weather source on that page to keep your eyes on, contacts for who is plowing these days and lots more!   From the weather link, I always click on the red colored “Special Weather Statement”  it goes into more detail and telling us we may have a foot of that winter wonderland in just the first storm-on-the-way!

Hummmmmmmm, think I’ll bake some cookies!    You have a wonderful time enjoying the mountain!  ~Bonnie

Crime Alert from Sheriff’s Dept

If you can safely do it, get the license number or even a partial of any vehicle that looks suspicious. `Bonnie

From: Williams, Betty
Subject: San Diego County Sheriff’s Department CRIME ALERT

Hello Everyone,

I’m B-A-C-K! A little note to let everyone know that I am back to work in the Crime Prevention Unit in the unincorporated areas of San Marcos, Escondido, and Valley Center. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone that sent cards and their best wishes for my healthy recovery.

*** CRIME ALERT *** CRIME ALERT *** CRIME ALERT ***

We need your help! There has been a surge in some unincorporated communities of vehicle thefts, graffiti, and vehicle and residential burglaries. The holidays are an especially high risk time of the year for property crimes. You can fight back! We count on residents to be extra eyes and ears that help us arrest the criminals responsible for these crimes. Being more aware and vigilant about reporting suspicious activity is extremely important! You may have the piece of the puzzle that will make the difference in catching the perpetrators. Call the Sheriff’s Communication Center (760-510-5200 and press 1) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if you see anything suspicious.
This time of year is also a good time to reconnect with your neighbors and communicate with one another through Neighborhood Watch/Block Party meetings. Contact me for a safety flyer for use in neighborhood newsletters and to remind everyone to be alert during the holiday season.

Please call or e-mail me if you would like to schedule FREE home or business security evaluations, Neighborhood Watch meetings, or to discuss other community concerns. Please be safe out there.

I look forward to talking with your communities soon.

Thank you,

B. J. Williams
