Bands at BBQ and more!

From: Susie Kellogg

Subject: Notes from last BBQ Meeting – NEXT MEETING SUNDAY JULY 10 AT NOON PM Volunteers ROCKIN’ THE MTN!

Hello to all,

On June12 the BBQ committee met. Kym McClary, Cecelia Borland, Tom Fortney, Greg Van Idsinga and myself were present.   Here is some of what was discussed:

Several great raffle prizes have come in, including tickets to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and the San Diego Zoo,a fabulous gift basket from Viejas and a very generous gift from Rincon.  Kym is planning to do some follow up letters and/or personal contact with some of the potential donors.  Grand prize still not in yet.

Kym was also able to get 2 kegs of beer donated for Tom and Jerry’s  Beer Garden.

Kym has done an amazing job in getting the donations and  in getting the antique fire apparatus for show.

Cecelia Borland has about 18 confirmed booths – about as many as we can handle due to space limitations.  Greg Van Idsinga handed out a tentative map of booth placement.

Cecelia also got commitments from Jake’s Mountain (folk rock), Dutch Bergman (ballads, western), and James Rust Blue Grass group. All three will be scheduled to play at the BBQ.    They will be performing from the Palomar Mountain Pavillion which is currently under renovation.  Too cool!

Mary Burdick is submitting news of the event at intervals to all the local papers.

For those of you who cannot attend the BBQ meetings, please stay in touch with the committee via email or phone.  We appreciate your interest and are glad to know that you are being supportive of our efforts.

Thanks to Tracey Chesney you can go to the fire department website at www.palomarfire.org and click on the Annual BBQ Volunteer Form and sign up “officially”.

The next meeting will be held on SUNDAY, JULY 10, AT NOON AT THE FIRE STATION.
