Palomar Mountain State Park “Earth Day – Clean Up & Restoration” Saturday, April 14, 2012 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Volunteers needed. Activities will include trail maintenance, grooming a 100 year old apple orchard, clearing cattail from Doane pond, eradicating non-native plants and painting the amphitheater.   We started off with wonderful soup at Mother’s Kitchen for lunch, then decided to take a few pix for you.  Home for some time in front of the fire, then headed down tonight to the Round Up for ribs.  Could not resist stopping along the way.  Quite lovely up here.   Enjoy your view from my lens . . .

The owners of this charming cabin sent these pix taken late this afternoon.  They LOVE every minute at their cabin. Those prints are the pups who beg to come up and go for walks in the woods.   The remodeling is finished the remodeling is finished, it is decorated to the max, and would like to take on a bigger one!  Now is your chance!

It looks like we are headed to maybe less than half the snow predicted so it is easy to run around, open the doors and cure your Cabin Fever!

  Have you turned in to 88.9?  Great stuff.   The station site is out there on the west side of Palomar in the Agua Tibia area.  Thinking the broadcast site was looking about the same this afternoon as it did our last storm when Marcos captured the photos here.

The Palomar district will be burning in fry creek tomorrow, March 15 2012, hope fully we will be starting early around 08:00 p.m. if weather permits we will be burning all ground fuels, if not, just piles.
