Vote for Nancy Matthews!

Vote for Nancy Matthews our Palomar Mountain Vet for Cats

Vote for Nancy Matthews our Palomar Mountain Vet for Cats

One of our neighbors, Nancy Matthews is our Vet for our Mousetraps (oh, you know, the cats). She is the BEST Vet! Nancy is one of 6 Veterinarians in the Country to be nominated (the second year in a row!) to win funds to treat needy pets. This is a “My Vets the Best” contest and the winner receives $1000.00 toward treating local pets in need.
Nancy is the ONLY vet in the contest with ties to Palomar! She and her husband Matt, have a piece of paradise up here and love that it is only 30 minutes from her Cat Hospital in Valley Center.
Please click through Nancy’s page: https://www.facebook.com/ACatsViewVet and scroll down to the link to vote on the insurance contest.

We can all vote for Nancy every day through May 10th! I just slipped a reminder into my Outlook – let’s all do it and help Nancy win!

Website Woes – we’re getting there!

clear baloon with background
The past three weeks or so I have been working with my server company to get my websites clean. Apparently someone in New York has nothing better to do than infect websites with malware. Now registered as the owner with Google, but they need a couple days to take off their warnings. Thanks so much for all the notes and calls and words of advice and encouragement. It has been quite a learning experience! Stay tuned! Meanwhile, enjoy our beautiful weather above the clouds!

Elsie book Barbara Anne Waite
It will be very fun when the book of Elsie’s “Mountain Years” is published. Meanwhile, here is a charming photo of Elsie with a little tidbit from the book-to-be by her Granddaughter, Barb:

From Barbara Waite
I just added a new “tidbit” on my website. Included there are 2 vintage photos. The title of this “tidbit” is is “My Mother was an Alien!” Curious? Read it on http://barbaraannewaite.com/category/interesting-tidbits/

Cabin Fire on Palomar

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
It was very sad to have a cabin burn on Palomar. Many of us knew Cal and Doris Rainford who designed and built their home up here in the 1970’s. It was presently a rental. Click for the news article about the fire.
Maybe 8 or 10 years ago I was driving by their cabin and had to stop and take a pix of their tree in bloom. It is also on the Memorial page for Cal.

Spring Forward Tonight!

Spring forward change your clocks

When I was a little girl my Popo always invited us to help change the clocks. I realize now that it took so much longer to have my brother and me tagging along. But I know now why he had us ‘help’. Just creating happy memories. I’ve walked by this old wooden clock hanging in our entry several times the last few days. It’s been nudging me to nudge you, from the Mountain Top to, Spring Forward and create many happy memories with your family!
