Brendan Kennedy – New Neighbor and Handyman!
Born and raised in Ireland, moving to the mountain felt like home. Brendan is an Irish percussionist playing all classes of drums so the idea of Music on the Mountain is very appealing. Brendan really loves Palomar and we appreciate him too! He is a handyman extraordinaire and looking for work up here. He spent 25 years building restaurants from the floor up and working in the food service industry. He can do most anything in the way of minor repairs or painting. So when you need his services, give Brendan a call at 76zero 859 79zero7

Are you available to play music for the opening of our Summer Barn Sales at Bailey’s? This Saturday, June 8th. We have a very small budget, I can also comp rooms in the Bailey House for Friday or Saturday night, of course camping in the private campground could be free also. Looking forward to meeting musicians who share a love for Palomar.

New Neighbor – Darla Scott-Meers

Darla Scott-Myers dream was to find a little cabin in a setting that could take her back to her roots. She grew up in Rose Hill Holler in the hills of Virginia and missed the trees, nature, and being in a country setting. Coming up to Palomar, the perfect cabin was waiting. Taking on a ‘fixer’ was no problem with friends and family by her side. Miss Darla is in a band called The Lacemakers, writes, sings, and plays six instruments! So, her cabin is filled with the sounds of music and is coming to life more and more every day with so many creative remodeling ideas. Darla is also a licensed cosmetologist so when you need a hair cut or a new style, give Darla a call at 619 97seven487zero.

Live or enjoy Palomar? Keep reading…
From: Michael J. Walsh [mailto:mwalsh@pacbell.net]
Saturday morning, everyone is invited to the PMPO, Palomar Mountain Planning organization’s Annual General Meeting. It is to be held starting at 11am (following the Pancake breakfast). Click for the Agenda: “PMPO Annual General Meeting 052513”
One of the critical topics for the community to fully understand, and provide feedback and opinion on, is the PMVFD report which will be provided by Fire Chief George Lucia. George and his team are planning a presentation to update the community on the ongoing discussions and contract negotiations with San Diego County and CalFire. We are at a critical juncture in those discussions, with regards to the future management and control of the PMVFD, and it is important for the community to understand the options and the ramifications with respect to the contract proposed by the County for fire service on Palomar Mountain.
Therefore we need to have as many members of the community there as possible, so that the PMVFD can communicate the situation and the options, and the community can respond. As well, the PMPO is interested in the community’s position on this matter. The decision with respect to the contract ultimately resides with the PMVFD Board of Directors, and my understanding is that they plan to be in attendance to gather feedback.
All the best,
Michael Walsh
