Lunch and Fire Board Meeting Saturday!

Can you join us for the info meeting and lunch?

From: Linda Fortney

We will have a representative from the County Fire Authority, as well as some visitors from surrounding back country fire departments, to participate in a question and answer session.  The regular meeting begins at 8:00 AM so the information session is anticipated to begin about 9:00 AM.

Following the adjournment the Board will be serving a casual lunch to those that attend the meeting.  There is a sign up sheet at the post office for those that plan on attending so that the appropriate amount of food is ordered.  We need a head count.  Can you join us?

Or, if not in the area, you can call the station at 760 742-3701 and leave a message for the board.

Thanks so much,

Linda,  Board President

How much snow? Check it out!

A new-to-me webcam link has views from lots of UCSD cams.  Click and scroll down and you will come to Palomar’s High Point Lookout view.  It gives us a peek of our heavy dusting of snow we were treated to last night.

There are more web cams waiting for you at  Snow Tour and Tips where you will find a lot of news you can use during snow days. This new link will be added there soon.

Maybe 2 to 4 inches predicted today!  We’ll see!

80% chance of Snow?

Oh my goodness!  We might have snow this year after all!  At this very minute the weatherman is promising an 80% chance on our Mountain!

Sounds quite lovely to me!

Do we have your mailing address? Is it correct?

Once a year the Palomar Mountain Planning Organization (PMPO)  puts together a very informative newsletter.  It is mailed to each property owner’s address.  The Fire Department uses the same data base when they send out their “Hot Notes”.  If you have had a change of address, or would like to receive the PMPO and Fire Department news,  simply reply with your name and address.  I’ll forward and before you know it, that newsletter will be in your mail!

Thanks!

Bonnie

Happy Spring from Palomar Mountain!

Enjoy this happy little bouquet I picked for you of Spring wildflowers on Palomar!  The Mountain is alive with early Spring color!  I just had to stop when I saw these flowers yesterday to take a few pix and share them with you.  Playing with my new iPad, (a nice gift- thank you!!!), I am so impressed with the camera!  It was windy and I just got in close, and clicked… they sure came out clear!  The colors are so vivid with no Photoshop!  Because some of these are close-ups, I’d never seen the detail, for example, in the white flower below which is a tiny pear blossom!  If you’d like, you can always double click on my photos to enlarge.  And, you are always welcome to any of my photos.  Happy Spring from Bonnie on the Mountain top!
