Pet CPR Class at Fire Station

From: CLIFF KELLOGG

Thanks to the Emma Zen Foundation the Palomar Mountain Fire Department has acquired pet oxygen masks for each response vehicle in our fleet.

A representative from Emma Zen will be at the station on July 12th at 9:00 am to conduct a class on using the oxygen masks and proper pet CPR for the crew and CERT responders.

I wanted to let the mountain folks know that they are welcome to attend this class to learn about pet CPR.  No cost is involved.  I understand this class will last about one hour.

Listed then Reduced the next day!

cabin for sale palomar mountain  Isn’t this the cutest cabin in the snow?!???  It is very cute all Four Seasons!

Ohmygoodness!  Inspiration Hideaway is back on the market!  We had it for sale in the past, then in escrow, and those buyers weren’t able to close.  The owners just had to be here for the winter but now, guess what!?!?  They have another home in escrow, so the cabin is back at waaaaaaayyyyy less than what they have in it.  We listed for $175,000 but the next morning they called and said: “Make it $169,900 – we want to get it sold!”

Many of these cabins on Palomar were built in the 1920’s or 1930’s but this little Hideaway?  Wow!  So much is from this century!  Imagine that! Vintage charm but modern electrical, plumbing, windows, instant hot water… lots of upgrades!  And!  The most recent addition?!?  This is really special!!!  A brand new ….  oh, read all about it on the Cabins page and scroll to Inspiration Hideaway.  🙂

Let’s go see!

Insurance Option

Dear Palomar Mountain Residents;

I lived in Pauma Valley for the last ten years, 2003-2013 and was the pastor of Saint Francis Episcopal Church there. I retired last year I moved to Monterey. To help supplement my pastors pension I am working for Allstate Insurance. I know that it can be a challenge to get fire insurance in the Palomar Mountain area. Our agency works with a lot of different companies. We have a lot of the same issues here. Because I know your area and the challenges, I can help Palomar residents with insurance needs. Please give me a call. No cost and Definitely, NO OBLIGATION!

Deer Highway now $169,200

land for sale palomar mountain

Can you believe this could be your view, right here in Southern California?  Looks more like Colorado or Montana!

When I met with the owner on the property a few weeks ago I asked him what attracted him to this land when he purchased.  He said, “It is the most beautiful property in the subdivision”.  The building site could be spectacular looking out through majestic oaks to the open, forest view with no other homes in sight. Beautiful boulders, too.  Lots of character.

The owner plans have changed now, so we ordered a net sheet from escrow and the owner is willing to sell at a break even price.   I’m showing this afternoon, and another Realtor was there over the weekend.  Who will be the next owner of Deer Highway?

Click and scroll for the MLS info including lots of photos, maps and the well report.

Then, let’s check it out!

Palomar Mountain Fire Hazard Inspections

Starting this Wednesday June 18, 2014 the U. S. Forest Service and CAL FIRE will begin performing Fire Hazard Inspections on Palomar Mountain.  The intent of these inspections is to assist you in properly preparing your home and or property to help protect it in the event that wildfires threaten your community.  The inspection also will be used to ensure that all home and property owners comply with the following codes/regulations (68.404(a) SDCCRO), (68.404(b) SDCCRO), (68.404(c) SDCCRO), (4907.3.1CFC), (4291(a)(6)Public Resources Code), (503.2.1 CFC), (3807.3CFC), and (505.1CFC).

Inspections will be made at random, and not all properties will be inspected.  Properties without structures, but having vegetation within 100’ of neighboring structures will need to remove or thin vegetation, or allow removal or thinning, to provide the designated clearance.  Owners may also request an inspection by contacting their Fire Prevention Officer:

If the property/structure is found to be in compliance, the inspection form will be signed off as compliant and a copy sent to the County of San Diego for their records.

If the property/structures does not comply, the homeowner will receive a list of the corrections necessary to comply with regulations and a copy will be sent to the County of San Diego’s Enforcement Division.

Once corrections are made, the homeowner may request a re-inspection of the property.  The re-inspection will be documented and a copy sent to the County of San Diego.

If you have any questions you may contact anyone of the three Patrols listed above.

Nev-R-Dun Cabin For Sale

sign  First time on the market since 1962!

Lovingly named by the owners, there were always fun projects. Don’t you worry, your toolbox will get plenty of use, too! Built in 1934, the 70’s saw a remodel. A nice bathroom was added and more room in the living area to sleep the Brady Bunch!  Some furnishings can stay including a double bed, bunks, and a nice futon. Beautiful hand-made quilts. Oh, there are three vintage sheds (almost) still standing.  Oh the possibilities!

Click for the Cabins page and scroll to see cute-as-a-bug, Nev-R-Dun!

Let’s go see!
