Rain!

rain on Palomar Mountain

Such beautiful “music playing” … it is pouring rain on Palomar Mountain.  Had to share.  Already have close to an inch and a half at our place on State Park Road.  So nice to be up here for this lovely storm. So thankful.

Enjoy!

High Point Lookout: “Fire on the Mountain”

Thanks to all the volunteers that staff our two Palomar lookouts!

From: Curt Waite  Sent: Monday, April 20, 2015

On Sunday the Forest Fire Lookout Association volunteers began staffing Boucher Hill and High Point Lookouts for the fire season. Just in time, as High Point reported a smoke on the East Grade that turned out to be a vegetation fire near Dyche Valley.  Palomar Volunteers, US Forest Service and Cal Fire initiated a full wildland response including air tankers and helicopters. The fire was quickly contained, but this should be a reminder to all of us on the mountain that we are facing another early and potentially active fire season. Stop by Boucher, visit the tower, and let the volunteers know how much you appreciate their eyes on the forest.

Palomar Privacy For Sale

home for sale palomar mountain

Doesn’t this look inviting?  I just got off the phone with the former owner.  Thought he’d love seeing that big wrap-around deck these owners added.  What a beautiful remodel with new windows and siding, too. How about a very private location on a acre with views through the trees to the Observatory?  Owners have moved out of the area so is their deck calling your name? Take a look then let’s go see!

Has your address changed in the past year?  Send your correction my way please.  You may just comment to this post, I’ll collect the info, turn it around, and make sure it isn’t seen by the world – it’s safe with me!
