Meals for Glenn and Cecelia?

Copy of IMG_6988 6 for web

Cecelia needs to limit herself to holding nothing heavier than a tea cup?!?  Oh my! Doctor’s orders will cramp her style for a couple weeks.  See message below about how you can help:

FROM: Melanie Hasty

Cecelia Borland will be having cataract surgery on Wednesday. We all know Cecelia to be on her feet and busy with her hands. After her upcoming surgery, she can’t do most of her regular responsibilities. For her to heal quickly and enjoy this experience, we don’t want we to push herself beyond doctor’s orders. That means we have to help her. She has been told not to lift more then a tea cup, which is more then most kitchen items.

Can you deliver a meal?  To make it easier for Glenn-the-head-cook-and-dishwasher during these few weeks, it would be nice if the meal could be in disposable containers.  They will have paper goods on hand.

Please email melanie.hasty12@gmail.com. You might even bring a cup of tea with you to enjoy together.

3 Leaf Shamrocks on Palomar!

3 leaf shamrock

This morning I was out with my grandson playing in the dirt.  (Yes, we were both playing in the dirt.) Then he pointed to a tiny plant and said, “Look here Grandma Bonnie, wild strawberries!  Someone could step on these leaves and smash them.  We should move this plant to a safe place.”  We looked around and saw the ground carpeted with many of the young plants. So, he’ll leave his little new-found garden right where it is and keep a watchful eye out for the harvest.

Meanwhile, Palomar’s wild strawberries are your ‘shamrock’ from the mountain today!

Enjoy your holiday weekend!

‘Grandma’ Bonnie  🙂

12+ Acres of Views

5.jpg

The views belong to you. Sitting up on a promontory feels like you are on several hundred acres. Looking out from your property you see a ribbon of ocean waiting for another spectacular sunset.  The two neighboring homes, off in the distance, are lovely, high-end. The rolling hills across the valley are dotted with oaks…  very much like Napa Valley.  If you’d like to plant a vineyard, this just may be perfect.  What would your dreams be for this beautiful property?

MLS info and photos are waiting for you here: http://www.palomarproperties.com/lotsandland

What a great group of moms, kids (two and four-legged) and Palomar friends. Many thanks to Cecelia for hosting last week’s adventure.  Hooray for Palomar’s Kids Club!

From: Stacy Eriksen

The children, moms, and grandma-types of the Palomar Mountain Kids Club had a great time at Cecelia’s barn last week! Lots of cuddling with baby lambs!  Yay!

Tuesday, March 14th St. Patrick’s Day Party! Join us at the observatory Outreach Center (the old school house) from 10a – 1p to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with games, crafts, and food! Be sure to wear green — unless you want to be pinched!

Bring a white t-shirt for a craft, and a shoe / cereal box or oatmeal container to build a leprechaun trap!  Hope to see you there!

The Palomar Mountain Kids Club meets every Tuesday morning at various locations on Palomar. We welcome mountain kids of all ages, and currently have children from infant to 12 years old playing and learning together.

Ring Around the Moon Tonight

moon ring

Great photo from Palomar friend, Robert Gonsett. He took this from his Fallbrook home a little before 9 pm.  Quick, run out and see if you can see that beautiful ring around the moon!

From: Robert Gonsett

Subject: Ring Around the Moon

Look carefully. There is a ring around the moon.  This somewhat unusual effect is caused by moisture in the air and specifically by tiny ice crystals suspended far above us.  See this Website for more details: http://www.universetoday.com/20402/ring-around-the-moon/

Free Hutch

hutch 1   hutch 2

Solid oak, excellent, like new condition.  Lined silverware drawer, or the base lifts out for other uses.  Hutch is in two pieces so the top lifts off.  You do need maybe half a football team to move it.  Very heavy.  Oh, think if the fun things you could do with this!  Years ago it was made as a china cabinet.  Now the DIY folks are creating all sorts of fun uses giving it a brand new look.   Pick up on Palomar and it is yours – how exciting!

Simply reply to this post with questions and directions.
