Hi Bon,
One Pastor in the Chula Vista area was given a Starlink terminal recently to help with his church’s efforts in assisting Ukrainian refugees coming across the border from Tijuana. He said he was not impressed with Starlink’s service so that will be an issue to watch.
To find out more, I called Fred White whose first name and number you provided in your newsletter. He’s very knowledgable on Starlink but he said that Starlink has serious equipment delivery problems. They just can’t deliver the earth-based terminals fast enough. He talked about the technical problems associated with the first generation equipment and we discussed the performance and costs associated with their current second generation gear which works better and has fewer issues with rain fades etc. (There are now two levels of service/speed/cost.)
Give Fred a call if you or your clients need to know more. We had a great chat this morning.
Bob
