   Hi Bonnie: I realize your heart will be transitioning to Missouri one of these days, but I presume there is someone on the mountain remaining with a love for its history. I recently came across a letter addressed to Betty Lowe from Nanette Couts Thompson. She praised the publication Palomar Mountain View’s and pled for a copy of Vol.II. I only hope she got one. The letter is dated 1984. I’m guessing that Betty passed this letter on to Bob (or perhaps she had left for Arkansas by then?) and it ended up in a drawer at our cabin. (Bob died late 2001.)

   I answered this letter this March 5 (2022) and would have been happy to send her a copy of Volume 11 (I have a few extras here or the store does?) and I sent my letter to the return address on Lemon Ave. EC. It was returned soon thereafter, no forwarding addressed. (She was a fairly old gal in the 80s.)

   Anyway, she describes many summers spent on the Mountain with her grandparents (the Rensselars?)at Iron Springs.She also offered some manuscripts and a poem she had written about her mountain days hoping they would be of use in a future journal. (As you know, Bob edited only the 2 journals, 1982-83).

   What a shame this resource was not tapped. I suspect she no longer lives and that Lemon Ave address didn’t lead me to heirs. Anyway, you may pass this to anyone dealing with history of the Mountain. I will hang on to her letter a bit longer.
