THANKS to Mountain Fire Brigade!

It is always so wonderful how this mountain comes together and helps their neighbors. Here is a great story for you with a very happy ending:

From: Jana Lucaccioni

Grateful to so many!!! Saturday our Ranch was struck by lightning and it started a fire.

It was very near our house.

I want to give my deep gratitude and appreciation to everyone that participated in helping put this fire out so quickly.

The fire chief told me that the call came from the lookout and a plane with fire retardant was dispatched immediately. I’m so grateful to volunteers in the lookouts! That was step one … Many more to come.

Next our neighbor Mike and Phaedra Hopper on East Grade Rd. called Josh and Whitney Dixon (and kids) our neighbors on Panorama Trail and they all came to help.

Many thanks to them.

Within about 30 minutes or less, two helicopters landed in our front meadow and dropped off ground crews. They immediately went to work. The helicopters then took water from our pond and started dousing the fire.

By this time firetrucks and crews from Rincon, Palomar, Henshaw and Warner Springs and the Sheriffs Department were all here. If I missed mentioning anyone please forgive me and know that I’m so deeply grateful to you too.  I want to thank each and everyone of them. They were all so kind and worked so quickly that less than an acre burned. They saved our gazebo and haybarn as the fire burned right up to these structures.

John and I have always had a deep appreciation for the firefighters, But until it happens to you, when it becomes personal you see how brave and self-sacrificing they are.

By the grace of God and the work of all these people who acted so quickly we were spared a tragedy.

Please know that our hearts are filled with love and gratitude and appreciation for all that you did for us.

Sincerely,

Jana & John Lucaccioni
