Did you know Palomar had white squirrels?  I’m looking forward to seeing my first one!  Not my photo, but sure is a beautiful animal.  Thanks to Don Grant for the info and sending this contest our way.

Please send your photos to blog@ffla-sandiego.org

“White” squirrels have been spotted around Boucher, including today. They range in colour from blueish gray to white. They are not albinos, they are possibly white morphs which are eastern grey squirrels, which are known to be in California and are known to have the defective gene that causes this.

We would like clear photos of them if anyone is lucky enough to see one.

My grandfather use to see the white squirrel’s on the trail that is now south grade road, back when they pushed the cattle with the Mendenhall’s. He also saw wild, white rabbit, white crow, weasels, They are out there.
