Interested in composing music for film or television? One of our very talented and creative weekenders on Palomar just happens to be a working Hollywood composer! He is also the Director and Founder of Palomar Film Music Workshop that is about to sell out for the 5th year in a row… Who do you know that would love to attend?
From: Larry Groupe
Our fifth annual film music workshop is this June. We are in our 5th year of it and it is a great joy for all who attend. Click to visit our website:
“From Singapore to Canada, across the USA and the UK, Palomar Film Music Workshops enjoy a wide variety of musical talent and personalities. From current music students, PhD’s, working professionals in the field, and senior university faculty, our collective spirit makes for the most immersive, vibrant and valuable experience.”
— Larry Groupé • Founder, Director: Palomar Film Music Workshop
“For anyone who’s interested in film and TV scoring, this workshop is a stellar introduction to the field. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced music professional, you’ll learn an abundance of valuable information, from artistic considerations, to orchestration techniques, to the more business side of things. I highly recommend it!”
— Jason Jedlicka • Ph.D student in Music Theory, Jacobs School of Music, Indiana U.
“I am truly grateful for the amazing experience. I learned so much from this faculty. It was just the right mix of talents, personalities, creative, and tech. The conversations by the film editors from L.A. were especially eye opening. I’m most thankful for the mentorship during the workshop. The passion for filmmaking and film
music really comes through.”
— Steve Thomas • Audio Technology Faculty, Capital University
“I loved the small group setting. Just enough people to get to know, but not too many for the amount of teachers we had. Coming to this workshop has allowed me to identify my weaknesses and strengths, and it’s confirmed my passion for composing to picture.”
— Candita Wager • UC Berkeley
“I was most taken by the faculty’s willingness to help and their openness with their expertise. I’ve been to a lot of music camps and workshops over the years, and even after four years of music school the faculty here had the most genuine level of care towards students I’ve ever seen.”
— John Weisiger • Jacobs School of Music, Indiana U.
Wow, I must thank you immensely for this news. My partner and I live at the base of Palomar Mtn and both have professional IMBD credits in music, tv, film and theatre. I also have worked at Abbey Road mastering records for a music company I co-owned from 1993-2006 with my partner John Loder.
We will investigate this workshop and our schedule, in hopes we are able to attend.
We moved to PM 5 years ago and have fallen head over heels with living here. Your posts are always a delight, informative and connects us to our community. I love how these little gems are right here on our mountain we cherish so much.Thank you for your service to our community, Bonnie.
