“Pumpkin Bread”
I’ve had the good fortune to inherit a collection of very old cookbooks,
that were put together by folks that lived on
or visited the mountain over 100 yrs ago.
Within its well-worn pages, stained with drops of batter,
filled with little pencil notes on the edges,
was a fall Pumpkin Bread recipe,
“Pumpkin Bread” , edge notes said,” perfect hostess gift, stores well.
If you’re wondering what to do with a pumpkin, or any squash.
peal, steam it until soft, put it in the blender,
puree it, like baby food. It’s ready to use.
To see the recipe go to: http://www.baileyspalomarresort.com
and click on ‘Recipes’
I share monthly recipes from my many books.
Hope you’ve tried, the Nate Harrison biscuits?

Thank you for including the Mountain News! People can subscribe here too. When you do a search for ‘Snow’ you’ll find this a pretty good resource for snow info. In fact, within minutes, the first message for the year will go out as we may have our first Winter Wonderland this weekend!
