Wild pigs are alive and well on Palomar! Their hoof prints are wider than long. I took a while back on some land up here. They can sure made a mess. Click for Union Tribune’s recent article: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/jun/01/forest-service-and-blm-plan-exterminate-countys-wi/

Palomar Summer
Enjoy another lovely poem from Kathy inspired by a summer day on our favorite Mountain. Thank you Kathy!
From: Kathy Derengowski
Palomar Summer
On Palomar the summer day
Is splashed with gold and green
The sky above is azure
The air is crisp and clean.
The bees are making honey
The squirrels and chipmunks play
Wildflowers scent the gentle breeze
Which cools the hottest day.
We gather at the general store
Or plan to take a hike
We bring a picnic to the park
There’s plenty here to like.
Still later, when the sun goes down
We sit outside and gaze
While countless stars and constant moon
Keep their appointed ways.
You may come for our bar-b-que
Or just to get away
You only plan a visit…
I predict you’ll want to stay!
