Many of you know Jay and Shana Ackerman and their family who lived on Palomar a few years ago. Jay was on the Fire Department, Shana headed up the Fire Safe Council and their sons often worked right along side her, working hard, clearing brush and helping make many properties up here more fire safe. The family moved to Julian a few years ago. Their son, Nick (at left in photo), now 19 years old, was giving his brother’s girlfriend, Sarah Rapue, a ride home last weekend and they did not survive a car accident. Our prayers are with the families. Here is a message from Nick’s dad:
The funeral service for my Son Nicholas Ackerman will be this Sunday Sept 4th at Rancho Baptist Church, 29775 Santiago Road, Temecula, CA (951) 676-2911 Viewing will be 1:30 until 2:00 with service and remembrance from 2:15 until 3:45. A separate joint memorial for Nick and Sarah to be held at Julian High is in the works and we will keep you updated on the details as we get them. Thanks for all of your support.
Jay Ackerman and Family 47950 Kimberly Ann Road, Aguanga, CA 92536
Updates will be posted here where you can also leave comments.
OUR NICK By his Aunt Lynn
There’s so much we want to tell him
~~So much we cannot do~~
For he’s no longer with us
…Gone…away too soon.
His smile and loving eyes
We’ll no longer see
But when we close our eyes
~~There he’ll be~~
He’s in our hearts and minds
~~forever~~
he’ll always be the same.
He loved life and touched
~~so many~~
He’ll be the same in Heaven,
embraced by all..
So keep him in your hearts
and know that when it’s time
He’ll be there waiting
standing in the light
~~ smiling~~
