Palomar Author publishes Lunarium!

  Just in time for Christmas!

A very fun read for children and kids of all ages!  One of our mountain residents penned the story that follows a family who loves living on Palomar. But then a neighbor makes them an offer they can’t refuse to move to, oh, you just have to read the book!  The initial plot takes you to some familiar places.  The names are all fictional, but you’ll enjoy puzzling it out. Adventure, science fiction, drama and even comedy abound, so there is something for everyone!  This delightful book is targeting the imagination of elementary school children, and adults, who have found themselves drawn into the world of the Lunarium.

Read a Review then click to learn more from the Palomar Author’s website,

You’ll find ordering information here for your own paperback which makes great gifts too!  Like an autograph?  That could be arranged too!

Love your Kindle?  Simply click here and you are all set with Amazon.

Who is the author?  Leah Stevens! She uses the pen name of LeLe Ste.  LeLe has been a nick name for years, and Ste?  Well, it is the first three letters of their last name.  LeLe Ste, kinda catchy, don’t cha think?  She her husband Joe, and their three children, live and work at the Christian Conference Center and enjoy every minute up here, a mile nearer heaven.  And yes, they do keep snow in their freezer for summer time fun.  (You have to read the book!)

The sequel to Lunarium is already in the works with a children’s writing contest  planned.  The winner of the contest will find themselves a guest character in that book, and book #3 is already spinning around in her head.  (A very busy head, by the way!  You MUST meet this gal!!!)

Go ahead, stoke the fire, pour a cuppa, and settle in with the whole family for a story you just can’t put down!

(Yes, Leah and her family will be joining us for Caroling Sunday night!)

Wood Burning Water Heater Stove For Sale

From: Bob Bekins [mailto:bob@northcountyrealtyassociates.com]
Subject: Wood Burning Water Heaters

Back East in woodsie areas some folks have a good supply of scrap and firewood to heat their homes.  BUT they do it, not through a fireplace, rather by using radiators inside the home which are fed hot water by an outdoor water heater. Of course, you can use the water for your hot water supply also.

We have two available that we tried to use for an industrial purpose that didn’t work out.  They each retail new for $7,500 FOB Missouri but we are offering them for $4,250 each.  Taylor T-750H woodburning exterior water heater,  holds 650 gallons of water, has an 85 cu. ft.heat transfer area  and generates 165,000 BTU in 24 hour, typically on one load of wood,  109 inches long, 47 inches wide, 91 inches high.

Can be picked up in Oceanside or we will deliver for $300.  Weighs about a ton I would guess. It is mounted on skids for slight repositioning.  We have two of them.   Email me and I will forward pictures and distributors spec sheet.

$1.00 Deal for Boucher Lookout!

From: Brad Eells

Subject: Boucher Hill Transfer Complete!

Hey Lookout Fans…

The transfer of Boucher Hill Fire Lookout Station is finally complete! State Parks has taken possession and we will soon be able to go to work!!!

I have placed a copy of the transfer document on the group site if you are interested along with lots of other photos and info:  http://www.socalfirelookouts.org

This is very exciting…but a little depressing as Palomar Mountain State Park is still slated to close on July 1, 2012…

State Parks are pretty good negotiators…the transfer price from Cal Fire was…$1.00…

We have way to many people to thank that have finally made this happen but we’ll get there.

The process began in 1985 with a visit to Boucher Hill from Consulting Archaeologist, Mark V. Thornton…26 years later…the lookout is on its way to rebirth!

Regards,

Brad
