Free Hot Tub Spa

From: Bailey’s Palomar Resort [mailto:bpr1888@inetworld.net]
Subject: 8′ Cal Spa Hot Tub – FREE!

FREE CalSpa 8×8 Hot Tub

We need to make room so the hot tub’s gotta go!  CalSpa PS-2 full-sized

(8’x8′) acrylic hot tube (mid 90’s) – I’m original owner and it still

works great!   Redwood exterior, with 8 jets, air-injector, interior

light, EZ-lifter, and foam cover.

Has circulation timer and temp control.  Requires 220v / 50Amp

service.    Its an older model (with NO COMPUTER) so its reliable and

easy to maintain.  Replaceable heating element is a standard water-heater coil.  Costs about $30 for the initial heat up – and about

$1 per day to maintain the temperature.

Cherry-swirl acrylic tub has some small stress cracks, but it does not leak.  The exterior wood is showing some age – and the base molding is splintered in some areas.  It could use coat of wood sealer and some exterior paint.  A new lid would be a good idea.

It is one of the bigger spas weighing over 500 lbs, so you must have a heavy trailer or 3/4 truck to transport it.  I can load unit with a crane (FOB), but you’ll need as least 6 guys to unload it.

Installation would require someone handy who understands spa power and safety requirements.  Serious inquires only – don’t bother to call unless you have a way to move it right away!

Rattlesnakes are biting more than ever!

More snake stories have come my way this year than ever before.  Matt Bailey was wearing steel toes boots when a rattler chomped onto the toe of his boot.  Glad that 37 incher didn’t get through to his foot.  Other stories include our weed eater guys coming across “the biggest one he’d ever seen” on Palomar.  And, we got a baby up by our place.  Keeping a watchful eye out on the mom, dad, and siblings… Can’t be too careful!  Click for an article telling about more bites reported this year than ever before.

Have dogs?  There is Rattlesnake avoidance training available at High on Kennels.   I spoke to the owner the other day who also cautions parents to talk to their children about wearing boots and jeans in this weather, not putting their hands into holes, really watching out for snakes and running like crazy if they see one.

Weddings on Palomar – Buddy and the Bride

Once upon a time, a little girl dreamed of getting married and riding to her groom on a horse.  That little girl grew up, just graduated as a Horse Vet, and of course, Buddy would escort her for her dream-come-true wedding! Our beautiful Mountain is a much-loved place for weddings!  There are ten up here that I know of so far this summer!  Thought some of you might enjoy seeing a peek at Melodee and Jon’s.  Click for lotsa pix!  (I couldn’t help myself!)
Know someone who would like to be married on the Mountain?  Bailey’s Palomar Resort does such a wonderful job at their lovely, old-fashioned setting.
Love is in the air!

Palomar Marathon Gal Finished Strong!

Everyone once in a while over the past few years, you can see Bob and Listy Gillingham training on Palomar for their next big race.  They have a weekend cabin here and love to run at this altitude to be in shape for their next Marathon.

Alas, Listy broke her leg in March with the Rock ‘N Roll 26.2 mile Marathon less than three months away!   Read all about it in this UT San Diego article.

What an inspiration to see her with a big smile on her face during race!  And, Listy even finished under the predicted time at 6:32.

Listy!  You Rock!  We all look forward to cheering you on, running again on Palomar Mountain!
