Lower ISO Rating may mean lower Insurance

Great news for property owners on Palomar.  A lower ISO rating could mean lower rates for your homeowners insurance.  The article has the details, then you might want to call your insurance company.  There is a possibility your rates might go down.  Please keep me posted!  Thanks to all.

i chatted with a Farmers Insurance rep at the last County Fire Safe Council meeting on this very subject. She remarked that the ISO rating has to do more with the fire department (proximity/staffing, etc) than individual property as insurance companies can put “red flag” notes on estimates, e.g., difficult access, heavy fuel load next door, shake roof, etc. which could raise the rate.

Thank you Cecelia. Makes sense. We’ll all have a lot of ‘spring cleaning’ to do.
