68 years ago today!

It is the 68th Anniversary of the opening of the Palomar Mountain Observatory!

Thanks so much to Scott Kardel for posting this historical photo on Facebook.

Steven Kunsman also shared, “18 years ago today at the 50th Anniversary, it SNOWED on Palomar Observatory on June 3, 1998. It was freezing in the dome that day! I remember that day well!!!”

    Amazing place, the observatory. My family toured it with the Superintendent, a friend of family, in 1950. A very special visit that I remember even though I was a kid.
