Dough Tillinghast Memorial Obituary

Many of us have fond memories of “Cool Cat” Doug singing occasionally at the Fire Department Barbecues.  A very talented musician, and a kind, family man.  Doug’s roots to Palomar go back about 100 years. His grandfather was talented and much-loved, too.  I can always recognize a Tillinghast fireplace.  Doug’s grandfather built the Lodge at the end of Crestline, and left a beautiful signature on quite a few cabins up here.  Doug will be missed.

Saturday, Feb. 21, 12:30 p.m. at the Rock Church in Liberty Station area of Point Loma. Reception to follow at church.  Doug’s family has requested that people make a donation to the San Diego Zoological Society to have a memorial bench installed in his memory at the zoo. Just put ‘Doug Tillinghast memorial bench’ in the memo line.
