Astronomer will share knowledge of the heavens October 4 & 5 at Bates
Posted by David D. Ross
Improve your knowledge of astronomy the weekend of October 4 & 5 at Bates Nut Farm when astronomer Bob Karl, formerly of Lompoc Observatory, will be at the farm beginning at dusk.
Karl will share his knowledge of the heavens, and will point out constellations, planets, and other interesting things in the night sky. Guests may bring their own telescopes, or use one of his.
For those needing instruction, he will show how to use a telescope. With the new moon occurring on October 5, and a location far away from city lights, this should be a great opportunity for star gazing! The event will be held in the East Field, near the Farm Zoo. Free admission, all are welcome. For more information, guests may contact Bates Nut Farm at 760-749-3333, email info@batesnutfarm.biz, or visit www.batesnutfarm.biz.
