The Walls Family suffers yet another tragedy and is sad to announce the sudden death of Earl’s son Richard. Dr. Richard Walls suffered a massive heart attack on Friday, September 13 2013. Preceded in death by his mother, Helen P. Walls (2000) and father Earl L. Walls (2012) he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
As everyone knows, the Annual Firefighter Award Banquet was very important to Earl and he paid tribute to the Fire Department by preparing and serving the meal for 17 years. This being the first year without Earl, Richard and his son Andrew, as well as the entire family, prepared and served the Awards Banquet just two weeks prior to his death. Richard was a very popular pediatrician with many accomplishments. A web page has been established to allow visitors to learn more about him, professionally and personally.
A celebration of his life will be celebrated on Sunday, September 22, 2013, on the lawn at La Jolla Elementary School, at 4:00 in the afternoon. More information is on the web page. He is survived by his wife Teresa (La Jolla), Sons Daniel, USAF (Betsy), Andrew (Seattle) and Jonathan (La Jolla), Sister Linda Fortney (Tom) of Palomar Mtn. and brother James of Poway, as well as Earl’s wife Louise of Penasquitos. There are many nieces and nephews as well to whom he was pediatrician… two generations of Walls children. He will greatly missed.

Love that man! Pediatrician for my daughter from birth my son and her son. His bright blue eyes twinkled every time we saw him he just made everyone feel so comfortable and at home we are so blessed to have had him30 years of our familys kids he always took time…….

So sorry to hear about Richard’s passing. What a great guy and a wonderful pediatrician. We have known Richard–and Terry, too–since high school. Our heartfelt condolences to the family.
