Snow on Palomar?

The snow plows are out on the Mountain!   (I couldn’t resist sending you this photo of the trucks under our big oak tree.)

We only have about 4 inches on State Park Road but folks are bragging about 6 inches on Crestline.  (I am soooooooo jealous, but perfect for kids of all ages!)

Had some questions about road conditions.  Main roads look clear but you really need to watch out for mud slides and rocks going up and down the grades.  Yesterday the UPS truck was sideways on his way up and blocked the road for a while.  (The UPS guy was filling in for Santa with those deliveries, you know!)

Thinking of heading this way?  Here are some tips:

1. Avoid the weekend crowds

2. Have chains

3. Respect Private Property – Crestline and Bailey Roads are ‘Residents Only’.  (Another good reason for owning a cabin on the Mountain!)

3. Click for lots more info including the CHP Road Condition Link before coming up.  It is good to read through all on that page to be in the know for fun in the snow!
