Bugs Bugging you?

Tis the season for mosquitos and those nasty no see ‘ums.  I stumbled across an easy way to stop the itching.

After trying many sprays, creams and gels they haven’t worked for me this year but SALT does!

We’d been at a BBQ with friends where I’d worn little capris. Those bugs had attacked my ankles after dining on my arms.  the next day I went in for a pedicure and the gal offered a salt rub.  I thought the salt would feel good on those bites that were making me a little more crazy than normal.   After the salt rub on my ankles, I realized they were not intching anymore but my arms still had big welts that were demanding attention.  I rubbed some of the salt on my arms, and immediately they felt fine.

I’ve been off the mountain much of the past two weeks and came home to a welcoming committee of those annoying bugs.  This morning I got the salt out and thought “wow, this salt really works, I should turn this tip around to the Mountain News!”

So, there you have it.  I have a little saucer of salt, dampen the area of the bite, dab my fingers in the salt and rub (feels so good!).  Sometimes I have salted a second time but if I use enough salt the first time, I’m never bothered again. Pretty amazing!

Hope it helps you too.  Now, go out and enjoy the great outdoors!  🙂
